今回真要借用林先生的口頭禪。
話說丟了手機後,瞬速購入4S代替。第一時間當然要試玩Siri 。
由最基本send msg 功能試起,沒想到只是簡單一句 "tell gary lam testing" ,以經瞬速打沉了我的自信。
重複講了5分鐘,每一次結果都令人嘖血
"tell gary then .... "
"tell gary check..."
"tell gary and..."
"tell gary that.."
頂你個肺,人家那有發t 音,那有發k音!?? 這不是老屈我嗎?? 結果在最後一刻,siri終於認到 gary lam。fine,我想我玩夠啦... 噢,應該是我俾你玩夠啦。
My English is shit !
浪漫的定義(?!)。

Actually there is a very easy explanation why it doesn’t recognize “Tell Gary Lam Testing” and it might have nothing to do with your English: “Gary Lam” is not really an English word. Although there is an English word for “Lam”, it is a very rarely used word and combining with “Tell Gary” doesn’t make a lot of senses. Most voice recognition software has some built in intelligence but the intelligence was based on the use of English, not Anglicized Chinese. So it is only natural that it *wouldn’t* recognize “Tell Gary Lam”. My bet is if you said “Tell Gary Testing” or “Tell Gary To Test” it would have no problem.
By the way, if Siri is well implemented it might add the word “Gary Lam” into its vocabulary as recognized phrase after you have successfully entered it the first time. So it might be much easier for you to voice enter it from here on.
ah . the problem is .. i got 4 "gary" in my phone book and Siri request me to say out exactly which gary .. so "lam" becoming neccessary.
yes. after couple of times, Siri could recognize "gary lam"
tks for your comment :)
